The very famous singing star of Cambodia Sinn Sisamouth in 1950s to 1970s. He was born in the 23rd August 1932, Stung Treng Province. He had one brother and two sisters. He is the youngest of four sibling. His father's name Sinn Leang a prison warden in Battambang province and was a soldier during the Colonial Cambodia period. His father dead because of disease and his mother remarried.
In early 1950s, he was selected into Vong Pleng Pres Reach Troap, and in mid 1950s a romatic song call Violon Sneha composed by violinist Hass Salan, inspired him into stardom. This song as well has been reissued by a large number of performer in a recent year.
His "Champa Battambang" won immediately public approval and praise across the country in the beginning of 1960s. He also used rock and roll instrumentation with guitar and percussion to capture his audiences.
He sang the song to a number of popular film such as "Mom Euy Srey Mom" and "Thavory Meas Bong" in the late of 1960s and early of 1970s. He wrote thousand of song that many people has recorded and listened almost everyday. Possibly at least one for each day he was famous. his son Sinn Chaya has said.
